My Name is Rick Harmon, I am 48 years old. I live in Akron, Ohio. I lost my sight in 2004 from retinopathy of prematurity or ROP.
I have been working with PC's and computers in general since 1980. I have been building and repairing PC's since 1985. I have been using various forms of assistive technology including Jaws, system access, NVDA and window eyes since 2005. My skill level continues to grow as I continue to use these various screen readers for Windows. I recently began using Voice Over on an Apple Macintosh as well.
I have experience with several different cell phones that are blind and low vision friendly including the Apple iPhone 4, the Android based Droid 2 and phones using older operating systems such as the HTC Ozone running Windos mobile 6.x. I also have experience with the iPod touch 3rd and 4th generation series of media devices from Apple.
